The Carter Acadamy
The Carter Academy is a dedicated construction training facility. Since opening almost ten years ago, our Academy has been a huge success. Each year it delivers hundreds of construction based courses including NVQ’s, Foundation Degrees and Apprenticeships. We provide various types of intensive training - not only trade skills, but also professional qualifications for Project Management and Quantity Surveying.
The Academy is the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) recognised training centre in its own right, truly being a ‘Training Institute for All’.
Our objective is to rise to the requirements of providing opportunities for local people to realise their potential by providing training and work experience.
Since 2003 the Academy has trained 324 apprentices in a number of construction skills areas such as brick laying, carpentry and joinery, plastering and painting and decorating.
Through the creation of local employment opportunities in communities in which we are undertaking projects, Carter Homes and the Carter Academy are also comitted to providing real opportunities for local people to gain valuable skills and experience.
We realised long ago that our workforce is the foundation of our business and that the on-going training and development of our staff is the cornerstone of long term sustainability in the modern construction industry.
Opportunities
Carter Homes also provides work experience for students who have the opportunity to be involved in both office and site based environments. This includes design and all aspects of delivering construction projects. We work with schools and colleges to help introduce students into careers in the construction industry.
For years we have provided employment and trade skills training opportunities for the local communities where we work.
This ethos is a key area to our success and we are one of a few who are able to offer teams of local, loyal and experienced employees with a genuine commitment and passion for the construction industry.
