Carter Homes is a company with regional focus. We support the local economy by using local suppliers and workforce wherever possible. The benefit of the people in the areas we work is one of our priorities.

By sourcing locally we are not only supporting the economy but helping to reduce the environmental impact of our operations. For example on the Straw Bale Houses project in Martin, the straw was grown locally just four miles from the construction site. Gravel used for the foundations was sourced from the village based three miles from Martin. All of the timber used was from well managed, sustainable sources.

We are mindful about the impact of our supply chain on the environment. That’s why we expect our suppliers to align themselves to our environmental commitments. Our suppliers have to share our passion for sustainability, minimising waste and contributing to protecting natural resources.

We take a great pride in the fact that our business is supporting local economies and local people and we aim to leave a lasting legacy in all the regions we work.
